Itinerary

Day 1 - Marrakech to Merzouga Sahara Desert (561 km)

Your overnight Marrakech desert tour to Fes begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech. We’ll journey through the High Atlas Mountains, stopping to admire the stunning landscapes and take in the views.

Our first major stop will be at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, located in the Ouarzazate province. This site is a prime example of southern Moroccan architecture.

We’ll then continue to Merzouga, passing through Skoura, a historic oasis with palm groves, and the impressive Dades River and its gorges. Our journey takes us through Rissani, home to the largest souk in the region, before arriving at Merzouga.

At the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, camels will be waiting to take you on a ride into the desert. Enjoy a stop to watch the sunset and try sandboarding. The evening will be spent in a Berber-style tent with a delicious dinner and a party around the campfire, featuring Berber drums.

Day 2 - Merzouga to Fes (460 km)

Rise early to witness the spectacular sunrise over the dunes, followed by a typical breakfast in the camp. Afterward, we’ll ride camels back to our starting point and continue our journey to Fes.

On the way, we’ll pass through Erfoud, known for its fossils and marble stone sculptures, and the scenic Ziz Valley with its palm groves. We’ll also pass through Errachidia and Midelt before stopping in the Azrou Cedar forest to meet the famous wild monkeys.

The tour concludes with a drive to Fes, where we’ll drop you off at your hotel or riad. This marks the end of our overnight Marrakech desert tour to Fes.
